The Problem

OSHA mandates seatbelts on all powered industrial trucks. Yet thousands of operators still neglect them — exposing themselves to fatal mousetrapping incidents.

  • Mousetrapping risk — When a forklift tips over, unsecured operators are crushed under the vehicle. Seatbelts are the only protection. Operators without restraints are casualties.
  • SOP non-compliance — Operators ignore seatbelt policy. Management cannot monitor compliance across all shifts. Verbal reminders and inspection sheets fail consistently.
  • Manual enforcement failure — Paper logs and spot checks do not prevent violations. Supervisors cannot be everywhere at once. Accountability is zero.

How It Works

Operator Seated

Presence sensor detects operator seated in the forklift cabin. System is armed and ready for seatbelt detection.

Seatbelt Fastened

Seatbelt switch detects engagement. Both 2-Point and 3-Point belts are supported. Green light confirms fastening.

Machine Enabled

Ignition is released. Machine starts normally. Operator can now work safely, fully restrained by seatbelt.

Alert on Violation

If seatbelt is unfastened during operation, buzzer, beacon, and optional voice alert activate immediately. Machine does not shut down but operator is warned.
